Key visual and logo design for the Q-dance Club Take Over Tour 2020, a co-op project with Rick Donders from Fuelled. For some international hardstyle lovers these tours are the first and / or the only way to experience a Q-dance event, so our working title became ‘The Gateway to Q-dance’. Therefore we decided on a spacestation that holds a Q-shaped gate, which transports you into Q-dance’s world of madness!

Qapital ‘The Alpha State’. Key visual for the 2020 edition of Qapital, a Q-dance event. The Qapital imagery has always been very logo-driven, and this year is no different. The glowing ‘A’ represents ‘Alpha’ or ‘The Alpha State’ and has been a – subliminal – part of the Qapital logo since day one, waiting to be claimed by Q-dance and it’s audience.

Impaqt ‘Festival of Titans’

Impaqt ‘Festival of Titans’, key visual for the brandnew Q-dance festival at Airport Weeze, Germany. The festival site was divided into 3 infected zones, each invaded by a different kaiju a.k.a. Titan. I also added my first proposal for the key visual, but it was deemed a bit too dark for a daytime festival. So eventually we went for a more graphical approach, influenced by older Manga-covers and Kaiju films. Brouwerij Sterck

Visual identity for ‘Sterck Brewery’, a brewery located in a medieval building in the center of Bergen op Zoom. The name translates to ‘Strong’, which leaves no room for interpretation and is just as clear as the way they want to communicate; no hip names, playful puns or trends, but sleek design, a solid appearance and ‘to the point’ communication. The crab has been the totem of the city for centuries and the inhabitants of Bergen op Zoom are referred to as ‘crabs’ during the annual carnival, so the choice to use a crab as a logo was a logical one. The crab’s body is filled with hop leaves, as a ‘not so subtle’ reference to one of the basic ingredients of beer. Photography © Brouwerij Sterck 2019

Impaqt Festival

Had the honor of branding a new Q-dance festival, Impaqt ‘Festival of Titans’, which is the successor of the infamous Q-base Festival and is held at Airport Weeze, Germany. This included the design of a custom logotype, an icon, a spacy colorscheme, some teaser artwork and several smaller icons to go along with it.

Decibel Outdoor 2018

Probably one of my biggest projects of 2018 was ‘Decibel Outdoor 2018 – Fuelled by Fanatics’, which also happens to be one of the bigger ‘harder styles’ weekend festivals of The Netherlands, being held at a beautiful location called ‘Beekse Bergen’. The complete project consisted of a main campaign image, a magazine, a huge merchandise collection and as ‘a cherry on top’ Fuelled and I teamed up with John Buise, Kees Riphagen from Luchtfilm.nl and Bob Kommer Studio’s, to deliver a trailer animation with a fully modelled, tracked and animated firefly, loads of drone footage, an original audio score and a factory modelled in Cinema4d standing exactly on the same beach as the infamous ‘mainstage’. Thunderdome Merchandise 2018

Art direction & design for Thunderdome ‘A Way Of Life’ summer collection & Thunderdome ‘Die Hard Day III’ collection. One year after the massive drop at Thunderdome ‘25 Years of Hardcore’, we’ve created two smaller capsules for the ‘Die Hards’. It’s no secret the hardcore crowd likes it’s merchandise black, but for the summer collection, we wanted to create something a little less ‘dark’. Even the fiercest gabber can’t deny this colorful scheme influenced by the infamous Thunderdome ‘96 Artist bomberjacket, with a touch of ‘infrared’ – a nod to every hardheads favourite sneakerbrand. Pussy Lounge 2018

This year b2s commissioned Fuelled and me to rebrand their infamous ‘Pussy Lounge’ concept. The concept needed a fresh look, with an emphasis on the distinctive theme of every edition, while maintaining the original Pussy Lounge vibe.
